About Us

Student Advocacy for Change is a nonprofit organization founded to encourage youth participation in social justice issues through events and fundraisers that aim to further progress in these areas. We all attend high schools in Orange County, California and were extremely lucky to meet individuals with passions and values that aligned with our own. A collective issue that we all resonated with was the need for greater student/youth representation and leadership within our local communities. In hopes of being a vessel and advocate for both ourselves and our peers’ voices, we decided to create an organization dedicated to youth-led change and empowerment. Our primary goal and objective is to advocate for and help those in need around us. One of the first steps we are taking as an organization is to fundraise money for underprivileged schools within our local communities that lack adequate funding. In addition, we hope to make an impact in various other issues such as mental health, college prep, and gender equality. These are just a few examples of the social justice initiatives we are passionate about and determined to make an impact in.

Kaycee Nguyen
Co-founder, Stanford Undergraduate

Hi! I’m Kaycee and I’m a senior at Huntington Beach High School. As a co-founder of SAC, I’m so proud of how far our organization has grown this last year and I’m excited for what this year has in store for us all. Being a long-time social justice activist, I want to empower others to advocate for issues they feel strongly about as well. When I’m not standing up to injustices, I love to read, play piano, and bake.

My name is Amelia Kawaguchi and I’m apart of Fountain Valley High School’s class of 2025! I’ve played basketball for as long as I can remember and love hanging out with my friends. I love to eat and one of my favorite things to do is try new restaurants and cafes in the area! I am so thrilled and excited to be involved in such a unique organization as SAC. Growing up, I’ve always been surrounded by community and I’ve only grown to love social justice and advocacy even more. I can’t wait to serve and elevate my communities that’ve always been there when I needed them most. Can’t wait to see what the year has in store for SAC!
